In January 1933, about 15 million American were unemployed and lost their homes and savings. FERA gave many work opportunities in lined with their previous job experience. By 1935, more than 44,000
people were employed. Not only were businesses assisted but emergency education programs also. They provide part time employment for college student that were unable to continue their education. To make the financial system equal and stable, Roosevelt prohibited other businesses from competing by creating and controlling prices and wages. Relief helped create this program due to the economic downturn worldwide. These money that we give them are grants and not loans but they are given to the states. When FERA was first introduced, we distributed over 5 million within the first couple of hours to those in need. Relief is a one of the major keys for the end of the Great Depression.
